This does sounds really great, but I’m with the person who poasted earlier about getting only $400, when those who stay at home with their parents and get like $2,000. My fiance gets $10,700 a year, and he has HORRIBLE credit (5 credit cards and $2,600 in total on all)!!…I only get $3,500 and the rest comes out of MY pocket with NO credit cards and no family to help me.

FASFA helped me out to a certain extent. I don’t make that much money at all, working two jobs and paying rent, car note, car insurance is all a hassle. But, my friends who stay at home with their parents got back like 2,000 per semester. While I only got 400 doesn’t something seem wrong to you? Plus, I’m 18 with no help.

Credit Cards are very useful, however, you have to have self discipline an know your limits in order to use one responsibly. They are not for you to buy any and everything you want, you have to shop cautiously, only buy what you know you have the money to pay off. I would start out buying just a pair of undies or something little every month and when the bill comes pay it in full. Then your credit score will go up and you wont have to worry about too much.

I agree with Amanda. I heard that a college student is more likely to be swimming in debt if they have a credit card than if they don’t. Its an aweful big responsibility to have one and its a lot of stress for a college freshman or even a senior. I think that a credit card is a great idea to keep tack of your expenses but I also think that it is an easy way to lose track of how much you are spending on it. I think credit cards are good ideas if you are organized, responsible, and know you will be able to pay of your charges. Credit scores are the ruling factor in society. Can’t get a car or a house without good credit. I have a card and only use it for gas and on emergency basis on groceries.

Seems like a real good idea, but the thing is your still spending to earn these points. And with some people they can go into debt and dig themselves down in a deep hole. Then the person would be more in a crisis than being rewarded. Other than that if you spend wisely use only when necessary you just may benefit from the reward points.
