My hand writing was illegible except for my social security number, so they where able to approve a card.....with no where to send it to. I never activated the card, I never received the card. And I was in the military and this chase card was an officers club card also with a monthly fee of 5dollars. After 3 months of non-payment (15.00) they put me into collections any my military pay was deducted the 15.00. During this process I never received one letter, email , statement , notice anything, yet they gave me a 500 dollar limit and a 5$ a month fee. Funny thing is it cost about 35$ to file a collection, and they ruined my credit for 7 years over 15dollars. I hate them, I make over 100k a year and just now got approved for a decent credit card..... I wonder how many people out there throw away their credit card stuff without reading it. It doesn't help that we all get so much junk mail and spam. I think its makes it easy to ignore both email and regular mail in general because people are so conditioned to getting junk. Its hard to believe your credit score dropped so much.
