Welcome back to the Marty Diaries! I’m sure you’ve all missed me terribly since my last blog entry the day after Thanksgiving, and I’ve missed you all as well. I’ve been busy studying for my finals, yuck!

But I’m here now, and you will be happy to know that a grand savings epiphany hit me in the middle of the night like a rock to the head. Actually, I suppose if I was hit with a rock in the head I probably wouldn’t remember this grand idea so perhaps a more befitting analogy would be to say I was hit like a boxer in a prize fight! Wait, that doesn’t work either. Boxers don’t remember anything! Ok, third time’s a charm. This grand idea hit me like an ounce of Red Bull at 2am. YES! Winner winner chicken dinner (or turkey dinner if you still have left overs)!

So what is this magnificent idea of mine? To wear my clothes more. Now before you begin thinking I’m part of some nudest colony or something what I mean by wear my clothes more is to stretch out the number of times I wear my clothes before washing them.

I don’t play in the mud. I don’t work in a hospital. I don’t work outside in the elements. I mean, how dirty can my jeans actually get? I have been washing my clothes after one wear for years and that’s been costing me many many quarters, but why not get two or three wears out of them? Now I’m not saying wear your sweater you wore at that smoky nightclub over and over again, you do need to exercise some common sense here, but this can save you some money. I think between dry cleaning and laundry mat fee’s I can save at least $25 a month this way.

And don’t worry to those of you who sit next to me in class. I have some really strong cologne.
