Welcome to the Marty Diaries!

Posted in Student Savings Tips by Little Miss Platinum

Hello everyone,

My name is Marty Talbert. I’m a senior at Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts and have decided to take the savings challenge! I am starting today.

Here is my master plan. There are 56 days left between now and December 31. That would mean I’d have to save $8.93 per day to reach $500. That is kinda steep for me, however, my birthday is in two weeks…SWEEEEEEEET. It’s November 19 in case anyone would like to transfer some benjamins into my ING account. I usually get $100 from my Nana on my bday – thank you Nana Talbert!!! I love you.

Now the trick will be to save the whole hundred. In my mind I have already spent it on 10 different things, but if I can exercise some self discipline that will bump me down to having to save just $7.14 per day on my quest to $500.

I’m still brainstorming ways to save…I’ll be back soon to tell you what I’ve thought up!

Don’t be a passenger in the game of life. Take that wheel and make it happen!

Well, I know that saving money is hard, and to come up with 500.00 by the end of the year is a lot. But have you looked in your area to see if there is a plasma center? Many times they pay 25.00 to 40.00 per plasma visit and I have known students who make up to 400.00 in one month. Hope you meet the deadline! Good luck ~Cate

Why don’t you try going to your campus psychology department. They have studies where you go in and answer questions or take part in a study. In return, they pay you anwhere from $20.00 to $50.00. It might take up an hour of your time, but it’s almost like free money. Good luck with this!! You can do it!
